Meet Micaela

Joining me in the classroom this Fall for the Smarty Pants class is...

Miss Micaela!

Micaela graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho where she received a BS in Child Development and an AAS in Preschool Education.

She spent three semesters teaching at "R" Child Labs at BYU-Idaho, gaining experience as a Support Teacher, Lead Teacher, and Supervisor. She completed an internship at Lighthouse Montessori School in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She has also gained teaching experience through giving piano lessons to children and teenagers, and teaching children, youth and adults at church.

Micaela loves to be with children, guiding them and learning with them. Her approach to teaching is child-centered. Children learn best through social interaction and play.  Children are active learners who learn best through first-hand and hands-on experiences.  Her goal is to provide children with learning experiences that are relevant and worthwhile, engaging and interesting, and challenging but achievable. Micaela also values family involvement in a child's education, both at home and at school.

Micaela is married to Steven Davies and they have two children, a 2-year old boy and a 4-month old girl.

She loves spending time with her husband and children. Micaela loves music and playing the piano and organ. She loves to tap dance, play sports and run. She also enjoys cooking and baking, sewing and art.
